JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) targets the first phase of the 2022 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) to be distributed this week or no later than early next week.

"We are targeting Friday to be easily distributed. Currently, the legal documents have all been completed," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Industrial Relations and Social Security at the Ministry of Manpower Surya Lukita during a virtual discussion on the Indonesian Ombudsman, Thursday, September 8.

"There is still a little data, maybe today the data matching process will be completed. It's just a matter of who the recipients are," he continued.

Surya said the Ministry of Manpower is also still waiting for the disbursement of BSU funds from the Ministry of Finance.

"It will be slow to start early next week if this week it cannot be pursued (the disbursement of funds)," he said, quoted by Antara.

The Ministry of Manpower estimates that the number of prospective workers receiving wage subsidies in 2022 is around 14,639,675 people. The funds allocated to provide wage subsidies are approximately Rp. 8.783 trillion.

The Ministry of Manpower has received data on 5,099,915 prospective recipients of the 2022 BSU for the first phase of BPJS Employment and is trying to distribute their wage subsidy this week, after matching the data.

Data matching is carried out to ensure that prospective BSU recipients have not received other social assistance from the government and are not state civil servants or members of the TNI-Polri.

Every eligible worker will receive a BSU worth IDR 600,000 through members of the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) and PT Pos Indonesia.
