JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has issued 105 thousand permits to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) over the past four months.

The process of submitting this permit is carried out to suppress the decline in the economic condition of the business sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In 4 months, we issued 105 thousand permits for the community. So, 105 thousand (business) status is legal," Anies said in a webinar discussion held by the DKI Jakarta Investment and One Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) Office, Tuesday, November 24.

Anies said that the number of business licenses issued was a program by the DKI Provincial Government to pick up the ball to MSME players so that their business was officially licensed.

"In the past, residents came to the government to apply for permits, now we are upside down. We pick up the ball, visit micro-small business activities, give them permission," said Anies.

The purpose of granting permits by the DKI Provincial Government is so that MSME players can get banking access, such as applying for credit to increase business capital.

"Then, they can see and have the flexibility to get partners, because this permit is given by the government. We hope this can encourage them to do better," said Anies.

On that occasion, Anies also said that his party provided tax relaxation in handling the impact of the sluggish economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The relaxation is in the form of exemption from tax sanctions.

"We are still discussing this tax relaxation, especially towards the end of the year. We will also talk with friends in the business world, what we can do to ensure that all of them can move," he explained.
