KPK: Uneffective Corruption Eradication Without Cooperation Of Law Enforcement And Other Agencies

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said cooperation from all parties to investigate the practice of rasuah would not be effective without the cooperation of all parties. Moreover, the public has high expectations.

"We all must fully realize that without cooperation between law enforcement agencies and related agencies as well as active community participation, the task of eradicating corruption is ineffective," said KPK Deputy Chair Nawawi Pomolango in a written statement, Tuesday, September 6.

Synergy to increase power to eradicate corruption is needed. Moreover, legislators, Nawawi said, want law enforcement officers to synergize when carrying out their duties.

"We understand that legislators hope that the Police, the Prosecutor's Office and the KPK as institutions that handle corruption cases need to increase their synergy so that they can be useful and successful," he said.

Furthermore, the KPK ensures that it has synergized. There are several steps taken, including building an Online SPDP system as a reporting system for handling corruption cases.

Not only that, but the anti-corruption commission is also with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and the Attorney General's Office for the Special Prosecutor's Office to carry out Coordination and Supervision (Korsup) activities.

"And third, provide assistance or facilitation to the Prosecutor's Office and the Police in handling TPK cases that are experiencing obstacles," he concluded.
