Anies Baswedan: SJUT Solutions Overcome Local Air Cables In The Capital City

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the Integrated Utilities Network Facilities (SJUT) was a solution to overcome the chaotic aerial cables in the capital city. "So far, the cables have been hanging out in the air for a long time and are used to it. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has built an Integrated Utilities Network Facilities which are located underground," said Anies while attending the Mandiri Decree of an Air Cable in the parking area of Mampang Prapatan Market, South Jakarta, Antara, Monday, September 5. Anies explained, so far the chaotic aerial cable has become a unique sight in Jakarta. This shows that the management is not good and correct. Therefore, Anies and his staff built the SJUT which is located underground as a better change in Jakarta. Anies hopes that this activity will be able to support DKI Jakarta Province towards a smart city and create urban settlements so that they are in line with the rules of city spatial planning, preservation and aesthetics. There are three aspects that need to be considered in building the SUT, namely the transfer of aerial cables that are above to the underground. Then, installing cables underground becomes a unit in order to reduce congestion so that the effect increases the aesthetic view of the city. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has prepared the SJUT so that operators can be independent and use the network that has been prepared. "The third aspect is to improve infrastructure services by cutting, controlling, and asking the operator to reorganize its network," he said. In realizing these three aspects, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and the Highways Office in preparing more secure infrastructure and maintenance. "Starting the first 20 kilometers (km), then there will be the next five kilometers in stages, but later it is targeted that all cities can turn into SJUT areas," he said.
