JAKARTA - Three Assemblys of the United Development Party (PPP) dismissed Suharso Monoarfa from the general chairmanship position at the National Working Meeting in Banten last night. The assembly then appointed the Chairperson of the PPP Advisory Council, Muhamad Mardiono, to Acting Chairman of PPP replacing Suharso Monoarfa. Responding to this, the chairman of the PPP DPP, Syaifullah Tamliha, emphasized that it was not true that Suharso Monoarfa was fired as the chairman of PPP. He denied that Suharso had resigned. "I just tabayun with Pak Suharso, it turns out that he did not resign as chairman of PPP," said Tamliha when confirmed, Monday, September 5. Even Tamliha said that the Banten Mukernas who appointed Mardiono as the Acting Head of PPP was illegal. According to him, the invitation from Mukarnas was not signed by Suharso Monoarfa and Arwani Thomafi as Secretary General. "So the news that Mr. Harso resigned was a hoax. And the National Working Meeting was illegal, because the invitation to the Daily Management Meeting was not signed by the Ketum and the Secretary General of the PPP DPP," explained Tamliha. Tamliha emphasized that the general chairman could only be elected and dismissed through the forum for the Extraordinary Congress or Congress, not the National Conference. So he said, the dismissal of Suharso Monoarfa was invalid. "There is no authority from the leadership of the panel to dismiss the general chairman, because the chairman of PPP was chosen and dismissed through an extraordinary congress or congress," said Tamliha. Previously, the three leaders of the United Development Party (PPP), namely the Sharia Council, the Honorary Council and the Advisory Council, officially fired the General Chairperson of the PPP DPP, Suharso Monoarfa. The decision was taken after 3 PPP Assembly leaders took into account the current situation within the Kaaba party after the first letter was sent on August 22, 2022 and the second letter on August 24, 2022 to Suharso. Then, the Chairman of the PPP Advisory Council, Muhamad Mardiono, was appointed as the Acting General Chair to replace Suharso Monoarfa. Mardiono accepted the appointment for the revival of PPP in 2024. "I accept the mandate decided in a daily management meeting to fill the position of Acting General Chairperson of PPP.
