Police Examine Village Head In Garut Who Is A Suspect In The Immoral Case

JAKARTA - The Garut Police began investigating the village head as a suspect in an immoral case against an underage woman at the Garut Police Headquarters, West Java, Monday, November 23.

Head of the Public Relations Sub Division of the Garut Police, Ipda, Muslih Hidayat, confirmed that the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Team had summoned the suspect to undergo a legal examination related to immoral cases.

"The examination has been completed, investigators have 1x24 hours of detention while waiting for the results of the rapid test," said Muslih, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, November 24.

He said the suspect with the initials PM who served as the village head in Cikelet District was reportedly related to a case of immoral acts against a woman who was still a minor.

The suspect who was accompanied by his attorney, said Muslih, fulfilled the summons to undergo examination at the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Garut Police Unit for Criminal Investigation.

"We will convey the progress of the investigation later," he said.

The suspect's attorney, Syam Yousef, confirmed that the PM had been named a suspect in an immoral case against underage women by the Garut Police.

However, the accusation against the PM, he said, was not right to commit immoral acts against his success team in the village head election at that time.

Even so, he continued, the PM was ready to follow the legal examination process to prove the truth before the law.

"The attitude of the village head will be committed to following the legal process," he said.

Previously, the village head in Cikelet District was reported by the victim's family to the police on September 7, 2020 regarding immoral cases that had been carried out since early 2020.
