January To August, Cirebon Police Get 41 Cases Of Violence Against Women And Children

CIREBON - Cirebon City Police (Polresta), West Java Police handled 41 cases of violence against women and children during the period January to August 2022. Of the 41 cases, the crime of sexual violence dominated.

"Of the 41 cases we handled, cases of sexual violence against women and children amounted to 28 cases," said Head of PPA Satreskrim Cirebon Police Iptu Dwi Hartati, quoting Antara, Sunday, September 4.

According to him, cases of violence against women and children in the period January to August 2022 reached 41 cases.

The data, said Dwi, consists of cases of sexual violence, physical violence, and the trade of people who are still being handled.

Dwi said that of the 28 cases of sexual violence, his party had completed 19 cases, and nine more cases had not been resolved, because they were still being handled.

"Physical violence cases are ranked second in total, reaching 12 cases, and seven of them have been handled," he said again.

He added that of the 41 cases of violence against women and children handled by the PPA Unit of the Cirebon Police Satreskrim, 27 cases were declared complete.

However, said Dwi, his party is worried that the number of cases of violence against women and children this year in the Cirebon Regency will increase compared to 2021.

The reason is, the number of cases handled until August 2022 has reached 63.07 percent compared to cases of violence against women and children last year.

"During 2021 there were 65 cases of violence against women and children, and this year until August 2022 there have been 41 cases," he also said.
