JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) will hold a code of ethics trial for suspects who hinder the investigation (obstruction of justice) of the premeditated murder of Brigadier J on Tuesday, September 6.
There are only four of the seven suspects who will undergo a code of ethics trial.
"(The ethics trial) has been postponed. On Monday (where) we have a meeting first, cooling down while perfecting additional files. Later, Tuesday, September 6, we will start trial again," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, quoted from Antara, Sunday, September 4.
The National Police has scheduled that for the next 30 days they will carry out an ethics trial for the suspects to obstruct the investigation into the Brigadier J (seven suspects) case and violators of the Police code of ethics related to the Brigadier J (28 suspected violators) case.
"Karowaprov continues to work on the marathon, hopefully it will be given health so that for the next 30 days we can (implement the ethics trial) of all those involved regarding the issue of violating the code of ethics of the cluster obstruction of justice," said Dedi.
As stated by the Special Inspectorate (Itsus), 35 members of the National Police are suspected of violating ethics in handling the scene of the murder of Brigadier J at the Duren Tiga Police Complex.
Seven of them were named as suspects in obstructing the investigation (obstruction of justice). The seven people are former Head of the Propam Police Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, former Karopaminal Propam Polri Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, former Head of A Bureaupaminal Division of the National Police Propam Division, Kombes Agus Nurpatria.
Next, former Deputy Head of Sub-Department B of the National Police's Propam Division, AKBP Arif Rahman Arifin, former Head of Sub-Division of the Baggak Etika Bagabprof Division of the National Police Propam Division, Kompol Baiquini Wibowo, former Head of Sub Divisionaudit Baggak Etika Powabprof of the National Police Propam Division, Kompol Chuk Putranto, and former Head of Sub-Directorate I Sub-Directorate III of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency AKP Irfan Widyanto.
They were involved in taking, moving, damaging and transmitting CCTV evidence at the Duren Tiga TKP, thus hampering the case disclosure process.
Dedi said that the National Police's Propam Division focused on ethical hearings for the six suspected obstruction of justice, not including Ferdy Sambo because he had been tried for ethics. The trial was held in parallel, starting on Thursday, September 1, at the ethics trial of Kompol Chuck Putranto. The ethics trial was held the next day, Friday, September 2 with the alleged violator of Kompol Baiquni Wibowo.
Both were sentenced to dishonorable dismissal (PTDH) and both filed an appeal against the ethical commission's decision. Currently, there are four other suspects who will be tried for ethics.
The trial continued Tuesday because on Monday, the National Police's Professional Accountability Bureau (Rowabprof) focused on preparing files for alleged ethical violators, as well as examining additional witnesses. "On Monday, September 6, we will hold it first because there are still several additional examinations of witnesses to strengthen the case file which will be held in the following days, Tuesday I will inform my friends again for the trial schedule until beyond," said the two-star general.
The four suspects who will be tried in parallel ethics starting next week, namely Brigadier General Pol. Hendra Kurniawan, Kombes Pol. Agus Nurpatra, AKBP Arif Rahman Arifin, and AKP Irfan Widyanto.
"Later on Tuesday we will start trial again, be patient," said Dedi.
