TANGERANG - Gubuk Bang Engking restaurant on Jalan Eksarahaisadink, Citra Raya, Panongan, Tangerang Regency caught fire. The fire is thought to have originated in a coffin strike when heavy rains flushed the area.

Iswara, an employee of the Mang Engking Restaurant, said the incident occurred on Friday, September 2, at 13.50 WIB.

"It was raining heavily. Suddenly the roof was struck by lightning and caught fire," said Iswara, Friday, September 2.

Contacted separately, the Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Tangerang Regency BPBD, Abdul Munir, confirmed that the place was burned because it was struck by lightning. However, the fire has been extinguished.

"So the roof of the maman house was made of straw. So when the lightning hit, it caught fire. But now it has been extinguished," he said.

Munir admitted that he did not know the loss due to the incident. However, he confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.

"There are no fatalities. However, the loss cannot be estimated," he said.

To extinguish the fire, the Tangerang Regency BPBD dispatched a fire engine to the scene.

"Currently it has been extinguished. Earlier, Mako deployed 1 fire unit and 5 personnel," he concluded.
