Surabaya Pilkada SMRC Survey: Eri Cahyadi-Armudji 48.5 Percent, Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman 37.3 Percent

SURABAYA - The electability level of candidate pair number 1 in the Surabaya regional election, Eri Cahyadi-Armudji, is superior with 48.5 percent. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 2 Machfud Arifin-Mujiaman has 37.3 percent electability.

These are the results of the latest Surabaya Pilkada survey held by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC). There are 14.2 percent of respondents who have not made a choice in the Surabaya Pilkada.

SMRC Research Director Deni Irvani said Eri Cahyadi's popularity rate was 81 percent, slightly different from Machfud Arifin, which is 80 percent.

Meanwhile, the level of popularity of the vice mayor of Surabaya Armudji reached 68 percent. While the candidate for deputy walkot Mujiaman, the level of popularity is 55 percent.

Deni said Eri Cahyadi's personal quality was considered more positive than Machfud Arifin. "This explains why Eri Cahyadi is temporarily ahead of Machfud Arifin," said Deni, Sunday, November 22.

The SMRC survey also asked Surabaya residents' assessment of the performance of the Surabaya mayor, Tri Rismaharini. The result is Risma's satisfaction level reached 97 percent.

"This is classified as very high," he said.

This survey was held on 11-18 November 2020 with 820 respondents who were interviewed face-to-face. Respondents were selected through the multistage random sampling method. The margin of error for this survey is estimated at ± 3.5 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
