Record Record, Police Confiscate 1,800 Kg Of Shabu-Shabu Worth IDR 16.4 Trillion In A Container Transporting Marble At The Port

JAKARTA - The police managed to secure more than 1,800 kilograms of methylamphetamine or shabu-shabu worth tens of trillions of Rupiah, which was tried to be smuggled through the port.

In a statement on Friday, the Australian Police announced that the total value of the confiscated methamphetamine was 1.6 billion Australian dollars or equivalent to Rp. 16,495,552,000,000.

The methamphetamine is said to be hidden in marble in several containers. This is said to be the largest drug transport ever in Kangaroo Country

The methylamphetamine was found in containers that arrived in Sydney Harbor over the past few weeks, hidden in marble slabs, New South Wales (NSW) state police said in a statement.

More than 1,000 kg of methylamphetamine was found in the latest seizure, police said on Friday, after about 750 kg of ice was seized last week.

"The capability this syndicate has shown us, in terms of volume and size is enormous. These numbers are staggering," New South Wales Chief Detective Inspector John Watson said at a news conference.

Watson further said that all shipments came from the Middle East region with the delivery details of the two drug seizures identical.

No charges have been made in connection with the latest seizure, but police have arrested three men over drugs found last week.

It is known, Methylamphetamine, commonly referred to as methamphetamine or by the street name 'ice' or crystal methamphetamine, is one of the most 'potent' varieties of amphetamine 'drug'.

The name 'ice' became popular because of the small white 'crystals' and their glassy appearance.

In a separate incident, New South Wales police said they had charged four people after finding about A$155 million worth of methamphetamine and cocaine hidden behind the headlights of an antique Bentley shipped from Canada.
