Ridwan Kamil Asks Bogor Regency Government To Sanction Fines For Rizieq Event Committee

JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, asked the Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) to sanction the committee for the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the pesantren which Rizeq Shihab participated in for causing a crowd.

"I ask Bogor Regency to also impose strict sanctions on the committee, because it has many impacts," Ridwan Kamil told reporters, Friday, November 20.

The impact that occurs is the transmission of COVID-19. Based on the results of the antigen swab tests carried out, five of the hundreds of people who attended the event were declared infected with COVID-19.

"One of them we have examined the 400 residents who gathered there with the antigen swab test, of the 400, 5 were positive," he said.

The sanctions given, said Kang Emil, were in the form of a maximum fine. Based on the regulation of the Bogor Regent, fines range from IDR 50,000 to IDR 50 million.

"I think it is possible that the maximum amount of fines is possible," he said.

However, these sanctions have not been given. Because the Bogor Regency Government still has time to ascertain the form of violations that occurred.

"Bogor Regency has also prepared sanctions in accordance with the regulations because the limit for sanctions is 14 days for checking and checking and after that sanctions are imposed," he said.

As previously reported, the crowd occurred when Rizieq attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the pesantren. His arrival attracted public attention, but many did not apply health protocols by not wearing masks.
