Puan's Story In Front Of The PDIP Heroine Of Lampung: Even Though She Has Worked Outside, When She Comes Home, She Must Still Take Care Of The House

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani encouraged the women cadres of the South Lampung PDIP. He said women should be able to excel, but still have to remember their nature.

He conveyed this at a meeting of PDIP Heroine cadres held at the Way Handak Sports Center, South Lampung Regency, Thursday, August 25. There were around 8,000 PDIP female cadres who were present to warmly welcome Puan.

Even though the event only took place at noon, they had been waiting for Mrs. When Ms. Puan came, many cadres shouted Ms. Puan's name lively. Puan thanked Srikandi PDIP for the warm welcome. According to him, women's participation in politics must be supported.

“This shows that women can. Women are able. Women should be given a chance. Women must have opportunities. Women can be great," said Puan in her statement.

However, the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture reminded PDIP Heroes not to forget her nature as a woman. Even though they have an existence outside the home, said Puan, women still have to maintain their roles as mothers and wives.

"If we are given the opportunity, given the opportunity, also given permission from home, surely we can become great women. There is real evidence," said the first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Puan gave an example of how the PDIP chairman, Megawati Soekarnoputri, who had been President and Vice President, was still carrying out her duties as mother and wife. This is what he then imitated from his mother as a career woman.

“Indeed, our work will be twice that of men. I feel that, because I already work outside when I go home, I have to keep taking care of the house. There must be food on the table. If there are children, take care of the children," said Puan.

"Even though I'm already the chairman of the DPR, it's the same when I go home and open the hood, I check if there's food. The rice is not very hot," he continued.

When her children were still in school, Puan was still diligent in checking their needs after coming home from work. Starting from the uniform to the homework (PR) of her two children.

“I still pay attention to whether my child has studied or not. The night before the children go to bed I have to read stories for the children," said Puan.

Not just reading books, Puan even created stories when her children were still small. Many of the stories he tells teach a moral message.

“The point is how to give a moral message to children. Live to be a good person, be devoted to your parents," he said.

Puan also revealed that although she is not good at cooking, she can still prepare food for her family when needed.

"I'm not good at cooking. But fried eggs can. Fried rice is okay. Once my son said 'Ma'am hungry'. I asked what do you want to eat? He said fried chicken. I can fried chicken. This is important. Why? Because the mother's cooking will be remembered by the child for all time,” said Puan.

The grandson of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia, Bung Karno, revealed that it was the support from his family that made him get to where he is today. Puan also encouraged all Indonesian women, especially the PDIP Heroine, to dare to pursue their dreams.

“If one woman dreams of getting a position wherever she is, it means that other women can do it too. In Lampung, there are already many female regents. We also have many female ministers, there are already female vice presidents, there are female presidents," he said.

"This means that God willing, in 2024 there will be more female regional heads, female ministers, and female presidents, God willing. But all of that must be a struggle," added Puan.

Therefore, Puan asked PDIP cadres to fight and come down to meet the people to convey that the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol will always be ready to assist the people.

"I'm sure, if the women have come down, surely everyone will obey. At least husband, children obey. So female mothers can work and work on the front line. Women have to do politics. We'll manage spending money, don't do politics,” said Puan.

"I ask Heroine to be enthusiastic towards 2024. Heroine to be solid solid solid. As women, we show that we can, we are able to win the presidential, legislative and regional elections in South Lampung," she added.

The PDIP heroine who was present was even more enthusiastic after hearing the remarks from Puan. They provide support so that Puan can become president.

"Miss president, Miss president," shouted the female PDIP cadres who simultaneously wore red clothes.

Puan said the cadres must be enthusiastic about winning the PDI-P in the 2024 General Election.

"It turns out that in South Lampung I have friends, great sisters, who will definitely support great women," said Puan.
