Fake Lecturer In Mataram Reported To Police For Harassing Student

MATARAM - A fake lecturer with the initials FA who was reported for a case of alleged sexual harassment against a number of female students in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), admitted his actions before the police.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the NTB Police, Kombes Teddy Rustiawan, explained that the FA's confession was contained in a clarification file before the police investigation team.

"The reported party admitted his actions when questioned by the investigative team," said Teddy as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 25.

Even though he has admitted his actions, Teddy ensures that his party will continue to handle the alleged harassment case in accordance with applicable legal procedures, namely by trying to fulfill the evidence.

"Because this is still under investigation, investigators are still focused on proving the criminal element," he said.

In an effort to fulfill the evidence, Teddy said that his party is now scheduling requests for views from experts, one of which is related to the criminal field.

The FA reported on Monday (8/8) had complied with the police's invitation to provide clarification regarding allegations of sexual harassment to a number of these female students. The reported FA provided clarification with the assistance of a legal counsel.

This request for information against the FA is a follow-up to the police after taking statements from a number of whistleblowers who claimed to be victims of sexual harassment.

The case, which is under the handling of the Youth, Children, and Women Sub-Section (Renakta) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the NTB Police, began with a victim's report being submitted to the police with assistance from the Consultation and Legal Aid Bureau Team (BKBH) at the University of Mataram.

In the report, BKBH Unram attached the mode of the reported sexual harassment. In addition to promising to graduate from college, AF is also suspected of playing the role of spiritual treatment for victims, promising the thesis to run smoothly, and also doing an internship at a notary.

From the report, the Unram BKBH also included information that the reported AF carried out the modus operandi for 10 female student victims in the period October 2021 to March 2022.
