Ask General Sigit To Fix Internal Police, Gerindra Legislator: There Are 430,000 Personnel Still 'Red And White'

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Bimantoro Wiyono asked the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo to re-increase public trust in the National Police Institution, which is currently declining due to the premeditated murder case masterminded by the former Head of the Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Namely by making improvements in the internal Police. The reason is, there are dozens of personnel involved in the shooting case of Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.

Bimantoro appreciated the bold steps taken by the National Police Chief who formed a special team to handle the shootout case for members of the National Police. Until finally this case was made clear by naming 5 suspects, including Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Bharada Eliezer, Brigadier Ricky, Kuwat Ma'ruf, and Putri Chandrawati.

"But indeed, at the beginning we must be well aware that there are many difficulties in disclosure and investigation due to unprofessional personnel barriers in conducting investigations," said Bimantoro in an RDP with the National Police Chief in the DPR Commission III meeting room, Wednesday, August 24.

The Gerindra politician also underlined President Jokowi's directive that nothing should be covered up in this case, open it as it is and investigate thoroughly.

"This is not finished yet. Here we see scene by scene rather than this case until the court process, but we believe that the National Police Chief can give his best. Because yesterday we were shocked with village bedols at the Polri institution. So that there are 35 personnel in my memory there is a violation of the code of ethics," said Bimantoro.

"We ask for this to be thoroughly investigated, sir. We ask not to be strict, do not have tolerance, sir, so that we can re-raise public trust in the Polri institution," he stressed again.

The Gerindra Legislator for the East Java Region also reminded the National Police Chief that there are still 430,000 personnel who are still 'red and white'. He assessed that hundreds of thousands of members of the National Police could be serious in their duties as law enforcement officers. He also views that the case involving dozens of members of the National Police can be a momentum for the Bhayangkara Corps to improve itself.

"Because this Polri is one of the most strategic partners of Commission III, and we love it, there are 430,000 Polri personnel that you must lead throughout Indonesia. We believe that out of these 430,000 personnel there are still many who are red and white against the Indonesian people. really in maintaining the Kamtibmas in this country. And providing a fair investigation of the community, especially those in the regions, "he explained.

"This is what the Chief of Police must ensure.
