Disdik DKI Still Handling Cases Of Alleged Extortion

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Regional I Education Sub-department has handed over the handling of a case of alleged illegal levies (extortion) by one of the employees to the DKI Jakarta Education Office.

Head of the East Jakarta Regional I Education Sub-Department, Linda Romauli Siregar when confirmed could not provide detailed comments.

"Sorry, I can't provide information regarding this because it is being handled by the Department," said Linda, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23.

Previously, information circulated about the recipients of the Decree (SK) for the Appointment of Individual Work Contract Teachers (KKI) who were asked for extortion.

The SK which is thought to be genuine but fake (asphalt) is distributed and signed by officials of the DKI Jakarta Education Office. In total, it was reported that there were as many as 70 honorary teachers who were victims.

The information was conveyed by the Executive Director of Edu Watch Indonesia (EWI) Annas Fitrah Akbar who said that the modus operandi of the DKI Jakarta Disdik person was to provide an appointment decree without being given a NIK.

Annas alleged that the person who carried out the extortion was previously the Head of the PTK Section of the Education Sub-Department (Sudindik) of the City of East Jakarta I.

The modus operandi was to issue a decree on the appointment of a KKI teacher which turned out to be false. It was also mentioned that the DKI Disdik person was attracting extortion fees ranging from Rp. 5-35 million per honorary teacher.
