There Is Another Case Of Police Using Drugs, This Time Brigadier MAR, Former Aide To The Wakapolres Dompu NTB, Becomes A Suspect In A Drug Case

MATARAM - The former aide to the Wakapolres Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Police Brigadier One (Briptu) with the initials MAR (27), has been named a suspect in a narcotics case.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Artanto, confirmed the determination of Brigadier MAR as a suspect in a suspected narcotics crime case.

"Yes, based on the results of the investigation, the person concerned has been named a suspect on suspicion of drug abuse," said Artanto as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23.

As a suspect, Brigadier MAR is suspected of Article 112 paragraph 2 and/or Article 114 paragraph 2 and/or Article 127 paragraph 1 letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35/2009 concerning Narcotics.

"From the determination of him (Briptu MAR) as a suspect, investigators have made arrests," he said.

The determination of Brigadier MAR as a suspect in a suspected narcotics crime case, because it was revealed that he was involved in a case of alleged trafficking of shabu-shabu with at least 91 grams of evidence.

The case that resulted from the disclosure of the Drug Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Bima Police, initially arrested a suspected shabu-shabu dealer in the Kilo area, Dompu Regency.

The development continues by arresting the man with the initial CA in Kabupaten Bima. From CA, the police confiscated dozens of plastic clips containing methamphetamine.

To the police, CA admitted to getting the goods from Brigadier MAR. The police also devised a strategy to make transactions between CA and Brigadier MAR.

The police strategy paid off by arresting Brigadier MAR while trying to make a transaction with CA. The member of the Security Intelligence Unit (Satintelkam) of the Dompu Police was arrested with 91 grams of crystal methamphetamine as evidence.

Against Article 127 letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35/2009 concerning Narcotics, Artanto explained, he was also suspected of being the First Brigadier of MAR in accordance with the results of a urine test which stated that it contained positive methamphetamine raw materials, namely methamphetamine.

From this case, Artanto asserted, the arrest of individual members involved in narcotics trafficking is proof that the Police are indiscriminate and selective in handling cases.

"No member of the National Police is above the law. If it is proven, legal action must be taken," he said.
