Angler Drowns In Front Of His Cub While Trying To Take The Fish Box Cover Off The Current

JAKARTA - The joint SAR team is still continuing the search for an angler who disappeared from drowning in the coastal waters of Muara Pertamina Village, Teluk Naga District, Tangerang Regency, Banten until Monday, August 22, noon.

The head of the Jakarta SAR Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation, Fazzli said, the victim named Supriyadi (41) has not been found and is still being sought by the joint SAR team.

Fazzli further explained that the incident began when victim Supriyadi and his son Ulin (13) were fishing on the beach on Sunday, August 21, yesterday afternoon.

"At that time the victim saw that the lid of the fish box fell and was dragged into the middle of the sea, then the victim tried to retrieve it by swimming," he said in a statement received by VOI in Jakarta, Monday, August 22.

While in the middle of the trip, the victim experienced cramps in his legs, until finally he drowned and disappeared from the sight of his son.

Then the victim's child asked for help from fishermen and anglers around. But unlucky, the victim has not been found until finally local residents reported to the SAR Team.

"After receiving information, the Jakarta search and rescue office (Kansar) has been searching since Sunday, August 21, at night. However, until Monday, August 22, the search process is still ongoing," he said.

The search was carried out by dividing into three teams. The first team conducted a search using a rubber boat with a search area of approximately 25 NM2 around the location of the incident.

The second team conducted a search using a fishing boat with a search area of approximately 17 NM2 around the scene.

The third team conducted a sweep along the shoreline with visual observations on the land route up to a radius of 10 KM from the scene of the incident.

This morning's SAR operation involved joint SAR personnel consisting of the Jakarta SAR Office, Tangerang Regency BPBD and others.

"We have deployed rescue personnel since last night, we are trying to search with water SAR equipment in the hope that the victim can be found soon," he said.
