Puan Will Visit Paloh, NasDem Hopes PDIP's Arrival Can Generate Understanding

JAKARTA - Chairman of the NasDem DPP Willy Aditya said the presence of the PDI-P (PDIP) in his office would discuss many things, including political cooperation. PDIP will visit the NasDem office today.

Willy hopes that in the future an understanding can be established between NasDem and PDIP.

"Hopefully (this meeting, ed) will create common virtues," Willy told reporters at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, South Jakarta, Monday, August 22.

Willy said that this meeting is also expected to resolve the issue of estrangement between NasDem and PDIP. "So far, there have been frequent miscommunications, misperceptions as if they are considered hot, even though it's fine," he said.

Furthermore, Willy said in a meeting with the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP as well as the Chair of the DPR, Puan Maharani, there would be a number of discussions. Heavy to light topics will be discussed at the meeting.

However, Willy did not elaborate on the focus of the conversation. He only mentioned that the conversation about nationality so that political cooperation and nostalgia could be discussed.

Moreover, the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, has good relations with the family of the First President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, including Puan Maharani.

"Of course there is nostalgia, there are conversations about nationality, about elections, about political cooperation. All later there will be many things that will be discussed with Ms. Puan in the meeting later," he said.

"So today's visit proves that the PDI-P and NasDem have a common line, a historical similarity which later became a big capital for building cooperation in the next stage. We will see what will be the subject of discussion," continued Willy.

Previously, PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani said her party would start its political safari. The first meeting, the party bearing the bull symbol will meet the NasDem Party created by Surya Paloh.

"God willing, tomorrow we will meet Pak Surya Paloh," said Puan to reporters in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 21.

Puan hopes that the meeting of the two parties will run smoothly. So, both of them can build Indonesia together.

"Follow me and how the meeting goes. God willing, (tomorrow, ed) it can go well and smoothly and the friendship is family to build a better Indonesia," said Puan.
