Seven Online Gamblers Arrested By Criminal Investigation Unit Of Bengkulu Police

JAKARTA – Seven online gamblers were arrested by the Bengkulu Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) in the Pasar Minggu area, Behind Pondok Village, Ratu Samban District, Bengkulu City.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bengkulu Police AKP Welliwanto Malau in Bengkulu City stated that the arrests of the seven perpetrators were after reports from the public regarding gambling activities carried out by the perpetrators.

"We managed to arrest seven online gamblers and two of them are lottery dealers," said Malau, quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 21.

The seven actors are RC (28) as the owner of the lottery account, M (53) the lottery dealer, I (43), P (60), Y (53), and S (47) who are the lottery players.

He said the chronology of the arrests of the seven perpetrators was when the Ivory Tiger Opsnal Team of the Bengkulu Police Sat Reskrim received information about gambling around the crime scene (TKP).

Then his party made an arrest for the successful arrest of M as a lottery dealer.

Furthermore, based on the results of the development, his party arrested the RC lottery dealer and the five other lottery players.

Malau continued, during the arrest, his party secured evidence in the form of four mobile phones, cash worth IDR 1.9 million, and an ATM card.

Eleven pieces of lottery recap paper, three motorbikes, one online gambling site account, two sling bags, and the perpetrator's wallet.

"Currently, the perpetrators and evidence have been submitted to Bengkulu Police investigators for follow-up in accordance with applicable law," said Malau.
