JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has just completed a series of commemorations of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and the 77th Dharma Karya Dhika Day (HDKD) in 2022. Even though we are now in the digital era, various traditional competitions have also enlivened these two important moments at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Komjen Pol. Andap Budhi Revianto said that the traditional competition was deliberately chosen to strengthen the noble values that have been a reflection of the Indonesian nation for a long time.

"There are areca climbing competitions, tug of war, sack races, and clog races. These competitions are not just euphoria, but teach the noble values of the Indonesian nation to Kemenkumham employees," he said, Saturday, August 20.

Andap explained that climbing areca nut teaches the meaning of mutual cooperation among team members, hard work, unyielding attitude, willingness to sacrifice, and high enthusiasm to reach the top of the areca tree.

"There is also a tug of war to strengthen solidity and strengthen relationships between team members. This competition teaches employees the value of support, cooperation and leadership," continued Andap.

Kemenkumham employees also participated in the sack race. In this competition, there are times when participants fall while running, then have to get up again until they finally succeed and successfully reach the finish line. According to Andap, this is a picture of never giving up to achieve the ultimate goal.

"The last competition is the clog race. This competition sharpens teamwork combined with agility. These values are needed so that the group can run harmoniously and faster," said the Secretary General who was born in 1966.

For Andap, the moment of this competition has also become a gathering place after so long that Kemenkumham employees have only held virtual celebrations.

Andap hopes that through this year's lively traditional competitions, employees can live up to and apply the noble values of the Indonesian nation to realize the Ministry of Law and Human Rights which is getting better from time to time.

"These positive values will make the performance of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights even better for the sake of higher quality public services. In line with this year's HDKD theme, namely With the Spirit of Togetherness, We Improve the Performance of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to be more SURE and ACTUAL," he concluded.
