DKI Deputy Governor, Riza Patria, Did Not Fulfill The Summons For Investigation Regarding Rizieq Shihab's Event

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, failed to respond to the police's call for clarification regarding the crowd during the Prophet's birthday and the wedding of the daughter of the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, on November 14.

"The person (concerned, red) has not been able to attend and will be rescheduled for his summons," said Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono at the Bareskrim Building, South Jakarta, Thursday, November 19.

When asked further when the summons were, he did not answer for sure. Likewise with the reason for Riza's absence from the examination agenda.

"(The reason, red) we don't know yet," he said.

Apart from Riza, the head of the committee for the Maulid Nabi event and the marriage of Rizieq Shihab's daughter, Najwa Shihab, namely MI, did not respond to calls from the police.

Furthermore, Awi explained that out of the four people, only two were present and asked for clarification by the joint team of Bareskrim Polri and Polda Metro Jaya today.

"Of the four earlier, those present today are sister W from the DKI Jakarta Health Office and brother OS airport security manager," said Awi.

Previously, after conducting an examination of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, the police then scheduled an examination of Riza Patria regarding the crowd at the wedding of Rizieq Shihab's daughter as well as commemorating the Prophet's birthday.

Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat, announced that his party today summoned Riza Patria. Apart from Riza, he said, his party also examined three other people.

"Today the plan is 4. There is a Deputy Governor, then Kadinkes, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and airport security," Tubagus told reporters, Thursday, November 19.

During examination or clarification, witnesses from government elements will be interested in explaining the status and legal basis in DKI Jakarta during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, it is also regarding anticipatory steps that have been taken regarding suspected violations of health protocols.

"What is being explored is in accordance with the law to be implemented, namely the canteen law. From the government element, that is the status of Jakarta, what is the legal basis, what kind of efforts have been made and are linked to the activities that have occurred in Petamburan," he explained.

Meanwhile, for the examination of the head of the event organizer, investigators will dig up information about their knowledge of the rules during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"If the planning committee knows the status of Jakarta like this, will he be able to predict what kind of invitation will be. That is what we will explore," he said.
