Coronary Heart Complaints, Surya Darmadi's Detention Was Sent To The Hospital As Of August 18th

JAKARTA - Director of the Jampidsus Investigation of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) Supardi revealed that the suspect in the alleged corruption in the seizure of oil palm plantations in Riau, Surya Darmadi, was taken to the Adhyaksa Hospital, Ceger, East Jakarta (Jaktim).

The owner of PT Duta Palma Group temporarily has to undergo intensive care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Adhyaksa Hospital. Surya Darmadi was barred because of complaints of coronary heart disease. "(His heart) was congenital from yesterday, he said it was bypassed," Supardi said.

Surya Darmadi is undergoing treatment at Adhyaksa Hospital, East Jakarta after complaining of pain in his chest when undergoing an examination for approximately three hours at the Attorney General's Office.

The suspect in the Rp78 trillion mega-corruption was examined by a doctor at the Primary Clinic of the Attorney General's Health Center. Surya Darmadi then had to undergo further examination and was immediately taken to Adhyaksa Hospital at around 13.00 WIB, Thursday 18 August.

For humanitarian reasons, the Attorney General's Office stated that Surya Darmadi was sent to Adhyaksa Hospital starting Thursday, August 18 night.

Surya Darmadi's health condition has also delayed the examination of him by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the Attorney General's Office.

The Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said that Surya Darmadi was originally scheduled to undergo an examination today.

"So that the examination of the SD suspect by the KPK investigators, which was scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2022, at the Jampidsus Roundabout, has been postponed," he said in a statement, Friday, August 19.

Surya Darmadi is known to be a suspect in the alleged corruption of money laundering and the seizure of 37,095 hectares of palm oil land in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau. He was named along with another suspect, Raja Thamsir Rahman who is a former regent of Indragiri Hulu.
