SEMARANG - Class I Penitentiary officers in Semarang, Central Java, thwarted the smuggling of hundreds of Koplo pills by a female visitor with the modus operandi hidden in her genitals.

Head of Semarang Prison Tri Saptono Sambudji said that as many as 396 Koplo items were wrapped using condoms and inserted into the genitals of the female visitor with the initials D.

"It started with the officers' suspicions when examining a female prison visitor," he said in a press release received in Semarang, Antara, Thursday, August 18.

According to Tri, the female visitor admitted to the officers that she was on her period so she used sanitary napkins. However, when checked, it turned out that a package was found behind the pads used.

The female visitor who claimed to be meeting one of the inmates with the initials SDK came at the end of the visit registration period. Currently, he and the SDK prisoners have been detained for questioning.

"Thanks to the thoroughness of the officers in checking the sensitive parts of visitors, the smuggling of Koplo pills could be thwarted," he said.

Tri added that the Koplo pill smuggling case was then transferred to the Ngaliyan Police for legal proceedings.
