JAKARTA - Political observer and founder of the Cyrus Network survey agency Hasan Nasbi suggested West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil (Kang Emil) to join or join a political party with a nationalist and religious background.

"In terms of character, Mr. RK (Ridwan Kamil) can match Golkar, NasDem, or Democrats. However, my advice is that political figures who want to become presidential or vice-presidential candidates must be willing to declare themselves members of the party," said Hasan Nasbi in a written statement. reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 16.

Hasan is of the view that there are many political parties that Ridwan Kamil can choose from and based on his observations, the figure of Kang Emil can enter a political party with a nationalist and religious background.

According to him, Ridwan Kamil's electability and popularity are currently increasing, both in the presidential candidates (candidates) and the 2024 West Java Governor and Deputy Governor Elections.

From these two things, said Hasan, the number one person in West Java Province is encouraged to quickly join a political party.

He said having good electability and popularity should be utilized by Kang Emil to compete in the political arena in 2024.

When asked about the name Ridwan Kamil who still excels in his agency's survey to run as an incumbent in the 2024 West Java Regional Head Election, Hasan explained that Ridwan Kamil also has the opportunity to try his luck in the DKI Jakarta province.

"So before the July survey, Mr. RK was also very strong, already above 50 percent of his electability. So Mr. RK's opportunity remains open to run again in West Java. Even if you want to be fair, Mr. RK can also consider running in the 2024 DKI Pilkada," he said.

He said that when a candidate has entered a political party, the steps and goals will become clearer. The public can also give more sympathy.

"So that you cannot continue to want to be outside the party while maintaining the desire to achieve a higher political career, you must party," he said.

Previously, Hasan said Ridwan Kamil's popularity has now also increased in the middle of this year, namely in March 2022, Ridwan Kamil's popularity was only 66.6 percent, after that in July it increased to 84.7 percent.

"The electability before June was only in single digits, in March it was only 7.2 percent but at the end of July it was 14.0 percent. Ridwan Kamil's electability was close to Anies Baswedan. The last Mr. Anies was 18 percent, Mr. RK was approaching," he said.

According to him, in this latest survey, there are several factors that made Ridwan Kamil increase in electability and popularity. One of them has to do with the great public sympathy for the loss of his eldest son.

However, Hasan said the great public sympathy for the incident had not yet been tested for certain, whether it would be permanent or only temporary.

"The news surrounding the death of RK's son is very widespread. Whether this increase in electability will last a long time or is only temporary, it must be tested again later in the next survey," he added.
