BANTUL - The Yogyakarta National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) formed three teams on the second day of searching for Catur Prasetya (17), the victim who was swept away by the waves at Parangkusumo Beach, Parangtritis, Bantul Regency.

"The second day, the search for victims was continued by the Joint SAR Team. Today's search is divided into three SRU (search and rescue units)," said Head of the Yogyakarta Basarnas Office Kamal Riswandi in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, August 16.

According to him, before carrying out the search operation for the second day, coordination and division of the SRU area was carried out at the Joint SAR Command Post located at the SAR Post of the Parangtritis Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) Bantul.

He explained that for the first SRU, they carried out a search using a SAR Satlinmas Parangtritis SAR jukung with a radius of 1 NM (Nautical Mile), then the second SRU conducted a search using a SAR jetsky with a radius of 1NM.

Meanwhile, for the third SRU, they conducted a visual search by land along the coast using the Basarnas beach patrol and combing personnel with a distance of about one kilometer from the incident location to the west and east.

"For the movement of jukung boats and jetskys, we look at the condition of the height of the sea waves. If possible it will be lowered, but if it is not possible we can 'standby' first, this is for the safety of the Joint SAR Team in SRU one and SRU two," he said.

According to him, the search for a victim who was swept away by the waves on Parangkusumo Beach, Bantul has been carried out by the Joint SAR Team since Monday, August 15, after the marine accident was reported until late at night.

"In the search operation last night, monitoring was also carried out around the location of the incident on Parangkusumo Beach, but until last night the victim had not been found by the Joint SAR Team," he said.

The incident began on Monday, August 15, when a tourist bus carrying a group of SMK Ibu Kartini students with the address at Jalan Imam Bonjol Semarang arrived at Parangtritis Beach at around 14.15 WIB, then the group headed to the beach.

Two people from the group of students from Semarang were playing in sea water, although the officers had previously warned them not to play in the water because there was a sea trough in that location.

"Because they were too busy playing in the water, the two victims were too far in the middle, and then they were dragged by the ocean currents. One victim managed to survive on behalf of Guruh (17), while the victim Catur Prasetya is still being searched," he said.
