NTB - The Manpower Office of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, said that based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2021 the unemployment rate in Mataram was recorded at around 13,000 more.

"Out of the more than 13 thousand, the highest unemployment is high school and vocational high school graduates. But the real data is in the office," said Head of the Manpower Service (Disnaker) H Rudi Suryawan who was confirmed, quoted from Antara, Monday 15 August.

According to Rudi, the high unemployment rate for SMA and SMK graduates was triggered because the number of SMA and SMK graduates did not match the available job vacancies.

"The number of graduates, especially SMKs who should be ready to work, cannot be accommodated with the number of available job vacancies," he said.

Related to that, his party will coordinate with Vocational Schools and Work Training Centers (BLK) to open the required work programs, so that they can become independent workers.

On the other hand, his party has scheduled that in October 2022, it will hold automotive training activities for 20 residents who have not worked from six sub-districts.

"We plan to train them in automotive for 10 days, after which we will provide them with equipment to open their own businesses," he said.

It is hoped that this training will gradually reduce the unemployment rate in Mataram City.

Rudi said the unemployment rate in 2021 was down when compared to data in 2020 which recorded around 17,000 unemployed.

While alluding to the potential for additional unemployment figures if the regulation terminates regional honorary workers, Rudi said that there was no explanation for this problem.

"We cannot predict whether it will increase or decrease, because the government's policy is still in the process of being discussed," he said.
