Surya Darmadi On His Way Back To Indonesia, 1 PM Arrived In Jakarta, But Don't Know Where To Go Yet

JAKARTA - The owner of PT Duta Group, Surya Darmadi alias Apeng will arrive in Indonesia today, Monday, August 15. Currently the fugitive is on his way to the country.

"Still on the way," said Surya Darmadi's lawyer, Juniver Girsang, in a written statement, Monday, August 15.

Juniver did not want to specify where Surya Darmadi had departed from. However, he assured his client that he would arrive in Jakarta this afternoon.

Juniver also chose to remain silent when asked where Surya was after arriving in Indonesia. "Arrived at around 13.00 WIB. Developments where later we will inform each other, yes," he said.

The Head of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) Ketut Sumedana confirmed that his party had not received a notification letter regarding Surya Darmadi's return to Indonesia. Not only that, he admitted that he had not received any information that Surya would come to undergo an examination.

"Nothing, we haven't received the letter yet. I just found out from the media," said Ketut in a short message, Sunday, August 14.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office named Surya Darmadi as the owner of PT Duta Palma Group as a suspect in alleged corruption in the seizure of 37,095 hectares of land in Riau. He was named along with another suspect, Raja Thamsir Rahman who is a former regent of Indragiri Hulu.

Meanwhile at the KPK, Surya Darmadi has been named a suspect since 2019. This determination was made after investigators developed a case against former Riau Governor Annas Maamun.
