TANGERANG - Police arrested two perpetrators of theft of a motorcycle (curanmor) belonging to a coconut ice maker with the initials L in Cayur Village, Rancailat Village, Kresek, Tangerang Regency.

Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Pol Raden Romdhon Natakusuma said the two perpetrators had the initials M (31) and NH (23). They carried out the action on Friday, July 29.

"The two of them stole a motorcycle belonging to a woman with the initials L, selling coconut ice when the victim was about to close the stall," said Raden in his statement, Sunday, August 14.

The incident began when the victim closed his shop. The victim then went to a rujak petis stall which was not far from his hawker stall.

Then, 2 men using their motorbikes arrived at the location. M then got off the motorbike and seemed to observe the situation. However, the victim thought the two men were looking for an address.

"Not long after, the victim's motorbike was turned on and the perpetrators immediately took him away," said Romdhon.

The victim, who could not catch the two suspects, then reported the incident to the Kresek Police. The police immediately gave chase.

As a result, suspect M was arrested after the police suspected that the motorbike driven by suspect M had identical characteristics to the motorbike that was reported stolen.

"Suspect M admitted that it was a stolen motorbike. Suspect M then showed the whereabouts of suspect NH who was hiding in the Cikupa area. On the same day, suspect NH was arrested in Cikupa," said Romdhon.

The two suspects are now in the Kresek Police detention cell. Both were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison.
