KPK Successfully Saved State Losses Of Up To Rp26.16 Trillion From These 2 Steps

JAKARTA - Deputy for Coordination and Supervision of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Didik Agung Widjanarko, said his institution had succeeded in saving the state from losses of up to Rp. 26.16 trillion.

There are two steps taken, namely optimizing regional income and saving or controlling government assets.

"KPK continues to assist the government in rescuing state finances and regional finances. The realization of the state financial rescue that has been carried out by the KPK is firstly optimizing regional income of Rp3.17 trillion," said Didik at a press conference at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, 11 August.

Meanwhile, from the second step, namely saving money assets that were successfully secured from fraudulent practices, it reached Rp22.96 trillion. "So the total is Rp. 26.16 trillion," said Didik.

Furthermore, Didik said his deputy also took other steps in saving the country from losses. One of them is saving lakes as a national priority.

There are three lakes of concern, namely Lake Singkarak in West Sumatra, Lake Limboto, and Lake Tondano.

"There has been potential for state assets in the form of lakes, ponds, and reservoirs that have been controlled and/or exploited by third parties without rights," said Didik.

In Lake Singkarak, for example, Didik said there were a number of abuses, such as changing the lake's lips to reclamation and building construction without permission.

Lastly, the KPK also carries out governance of the mining sector. A series of coordination and monitoring meetings, said Didik, were held in Papua, West Papua, Maluku, North Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara to Bali.

"KPK also helps enforce sanctions to encourage compliance by business actors as well as to provide education to the public," said Didik.

"KPK provides assistance in the form of installing non-compliance notice boards on tax objects that do not pay their obligations. From April to July 2022, the KPK encourages the installation of signs in West Seram Regency, Teluk Wondama Regency, Manokwari Regency, Sorong City, Regency, and South Manokwari, " he concluded.
