DEMAK - Police investigated the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman wrapped in a cardboard box on the side of the road in Dusun Pasir, Mijen District, Demak Regency, Central Java.

Central Java Police Head of Humas Kombes Pol. Iqbal Alqudusy confirmed the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman wrapped in the cardboard.

"An unidentified woman who has not been identified," said Iqbal in Semarang, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 11.

He explained that the body was first discovered by a farmer who was looking for grass across the road leading to Dusun Pasir.

While passing, the witness smelled a pungent odor which was thought to have come from a cardboard box.

"The witness saw a cardboard box that was neatly wrapped, then opened it with an iron rod," he said.

According to the witness' testimony, he said, there was a bone skeleton that was thought to be a human hand.

The findings were then forwarded to the Mijen Police and officers immediately went to the location where the discovery was made. The case is currently being handled by the Demak Police.
