Prostitution, Thuggery And Gambling Dens In Gunung Antang, Jatinegara Have Not Yet Been Brought Under Control, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has yet to dismantle the Gunung Antang prostitution site in Jatinegara, East Jakarta. Allegedly due to the complexity of the demolition procedure that must involve various government agencies.

"There has been a joint meeting yesterday, (but) we still follow the procedure. After the issuance of the independent demolition letter, a Warning Letter (SP) 1 will be issued," said Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunisa to reporters, Thursday, 11. August.

Previously, PT KAI held a coordination meeting with the ranks of the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) regarding the follow-up to controlling the localization of prostitution in Gunung Antang.

The coordination meeting with the Central Jakarta City Government was a continuation of the previous meeting.

"SP1, SP2 and SP3 will be issued," he said.

Confirmed separately, East Jakarta Mayor M. Anwar confirmed the follow-up meeting with PT KAI. The follow-up meeting concluded the results of the enforcement implementation.

"Yes, the plan has been decided in the meeting. PT KAI will carry out enforcement on August 25," said M. Anwar.

However, before the enforcement is carried out, the ranks of the East Jakarta City Government and PT KAI will again hold a technical meeting (dismantling).

"Before it is implemented, there will be a technical meeting. Previously, PT KAI had made an SP to dismantle (the building) itself," he said.

Critical of the settlements in Gunung Antang due to the many reports regarding the practice of prostitution and gambling on the land owned by PT KAI. Not only that, the localization that has been around for decades is managed by a gang of thugs.

Residents in RW 01, Kelurahan Rawa Bunga, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, which is located next to Mount Antang, questioned why the localization of Mount Antang had not yet been brought under control. In fact, the schedule for independent demolition has passed, namely August 2, last.

Because of this, residents suspect the interests of a few elements in the black valley area so that the demolition plan has not been implemented.

Head of RW 01, Rawa Bunga Village, Dwi Lestari, said that his party, representing the residents of RW 01, questioned the promise of PT KAI, which previously planned to carry out control, but was never carried out for various reasons.

Dwi hopes that the relevant agencies will immediately enforce it in the near future.

"We ask the governor, the mayor of East Jakarta, the TNI and the National Police to help with the problems of our residents who reject the existence of the prostitution establishment," said Dwi when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, August 4, afternoon.

Although PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has sent a letter of independent demolition until the deadline of Tuesday, August 2, but to this day no buildings in the Gunung Antang localization have been demolished.

According to Dwi, in the absence of firmness from PT KAI as the owner of the Gunung Antang localization land, local residents were disappointed because of the slow pace of enforcement. Residents suspect that behind the slow pace of PT KAI in handling Gunung Antang, there are people playing.

"Residents are certainly very disappointed with the lack of action from PT KAI as the land owner. This problem has dragged on for a long time, it seems like it is stalling for time. The incident from June 12 until now has been 2 months just a lure. Until people ask, there are what's behind Mount Antang?," said Dwi.
