YOGYAKARTA - The Education, Youth, and Sports Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta has found facts about disciplinary violations in the form of selling school uniforms in the alleged case of being forced to wear a headscarf against female students at SMAN 1 Banguntapan, Bantul Regency.

"There is a uniform sale that includes a hijab package, so that it encourages all students to wear a headscarf," said Head of Disdikpora DIY Didik Wardaya at the Auditorium Disdikpora DIY, Yogyakarta, Antara, Wednesday, August 10.

According to Didik, the sale of uniforms in schools has violated the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) No. 45 of 2014. As a derivative, Disdikpora DIY has also issued a circular (SE) regarding the prohibition of selling uniforms in schools.

Because the uniforms sold by the school come with a hijab package, according to her, students at SMAN 1 Banguntapan, Bantul have no other choice but to wear a headscarf.

"So the violation does not give room for choices for (students) to use the hijab or not, that's all," he said.

The sale of uniforms in schools with hijab packages is one of the many facts of disciplinary violations related to cases of alleged forced hijab.

"If there are enough facts, we cannot fully disclose them. But what is clear is that related to disciplinary violations, one of them is because we make a provision that schools are not allowed to sell uniforms and there are uniform sales," said Didik.

Didik said that the violation of employee discipline at SMAN 1 Banguntapan was carried out by four people, namely the principal as the person in charge, two guidance and counseling teachers (BK), and the homeroom teacher who had all been temporarily disabled.

According to Didik, the findings of the disciplinary violation will be assessed by the DIY Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) to determine the imposition of disciplinary sanctions.

According to Government Regulation No. 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline, the light category sanctions include verbal warnings, written warnings, and written statements of dissatisfaction.

Next for moderate disciplinary violations, the sanctions include a periodic salary delay, for example one year or a one year promotion delay.

"In terms of discipline (sanctions) employees can be dismissed. That is if the category is very heavy. We will leave that to the judge, namely the task force team," he also said.
