Boat Hit By Ship, 2 Fishermen In Karangasem Rescued By SAR Team

KARANASEM - The joint SAR team evacuates fishermen whose boat/jukung was damaged when it was hit by a boat in the middle of the sea in the waters of Kubu, Karangasem Regency, Bali.

This accident occurred when two fishermen, Ketut Wisnu Murti (25) and Gede Toya (39) went to sea looking for fish at around 05.00 WITA, Wednesday, August 10.

"When pulling a fishing net, a ship came from east to west and was hit," said Karangasem SAR Post Coordinator, I Gusti Ngurah Eka Wiadnyana.

This incident occurred around 07.00 WITA. The report was received by SAR from Balawista Tulamben at around 08.15 WITA.

The location of fishermen is 4 Nm from the shoreline. There were 9 personnel who were deployed to rescue the fishermen.

Within 30 minutes, the SAR team evacuated two fishermen in a safe condition. Then the jukung was pulled using a speedboat belonging to the Polair Kubu Post to the shoreline.

"There was a problem during the evacuation, there was a rope that was slightly cut when pulling the jukung. However, it was overcome and finally arrived at Rubaya Kubu Beach at 10.50 WITA," he said.
