As An Alternative For MotoGP Spectators, Central Lombok Floating Pier Will Be Used As A Fast Boat Port

CENTRAL LOMBOK - The Transportation Agency of Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province stated that the floating docks that have been built at Kuta Beach and Selong Belanak will be used as a port for fast boats.

"The Ministry of Transportation will carry out renovations to the floating dock," said Secretary of Transportation of Central Lombok, Lalu Moh Zaenudin at his office in Praya, Antara, Tuesday, August 9.

The repair of the two floating docks will actually be carried out in early 2022 to support the Mandalika MotoGP event. However, due to time constraints it was not possible to implement it.

"However, until now we are still waiting for information from the central government," he said.

Later, the floating dock will be used as an alternative to the fast boat port from Benoa, Bali. Currently, the Central Lombok regional government also has a Teluk Awang port, but its function is only for loading and unloading goods.

"It will be an alternative for MotoGP spectators who come from Benoa or Bali," he said.

He said the local government strongly supports the central government's plan, so that the floating dock can be used to improve the community's economy.

"We hope that it will be renovated soon, so that it can be used to support MotoGP," he said.

To note, the budget for the Kuta and Selong Belanak floating jetty projects came from the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (KDPDTT) 2017 with a total budget of around Rp. 7 billion.
