COVID-19 Update As Of August 9: New Cases 6,276, Active Cases 51,041

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 128,503 specimens were examined with the result that there were 6,276 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,255,679 people and active cases have increased by 51,041 to 51,041 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, August 9.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 4,850 people, bringing the total to 6,047,607 recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 18 cases and a total to 157,131 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,298 cases and a total of 1,351,013 cases. Followed by West Java with 1,566 new cases with a total of 1,144,869 cases. Banten with 790 new cases and a total of 317,906 cases. East Java with 565 new cases and a total of 589,187 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,200 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 862 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 439 recovered cases and Banten with an additional 384 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 104,665,165.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.05 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 7,071 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 202,772,014 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,322,253 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 57,553,217. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
