JAKARTA - The Pademangan Sector Police, North Jakarta, arrested two suspects with the initials ISK and YD who have been on the wanted list (DPO) of the Kemayoran Police, Central Jakarta, since May 2021.

According to the Pademangan Police Chief, Police Commissioner Happy Saputra, their DPO status was revealed from the development carried out by his members in the alleged robbery case involving three suspects on Jalan RE Martadinata on August 3, 2022.

He explained that his members at that time suspected three young men riding a motorcycle on Jalan RE Martadinata. After being dismissed and examined, one of them carried a sharp weapon in the form of a sickle.

"We immediately imposed the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951," said Happy.

He said the three suspects, F (20), EK (15), and RA (19) were arrested for carrying sharp weapons.

When interrogated, the three admitted that they had committed violent theft in a number of places with four other people, namely UTI (19), YD (17), R (19), and I (21).

The four suspects were later arrested and taken to the Pademangan Police for further investigation.

The suspects ISK and YD were revealed to be DPOs in a fight that resulted in one person's death on Jalan Utan Panjang III, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"This is the result of our development, it turns out (of) the four people we have detained (arrested), some of them are DPO Kemayoran Police," said Happy.

Following the arrest of seven suspects, the police then hunted down the head of the gang of robbers with the initials RS (17) and managed to arrest him.

The suspects ISK and YD will be handed over to the Kemayoran Police because the crimes they committed occurred in that area.

"It's been a year, so this is quite a long time. So I (ISK) and Y (YD) who are the DPO of the Kemayoran Police will be handed over to us to settle the case," said Happy.

Meanwhile, six other suspects, who were presented at a press conference at the Pademangan Police Headquarters on Monday, were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code on theft with violence and carries a penalty of five years in prison.

The police also seized two sickle blades as evidence in the case.
