Regency Government Sets Emergency Response Status For Katingan And Gunung Mas Floods, High Rainfall Is Called The Cause Of Floods

KATINGAN - Head of the Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) Disaster Management and Fire Service Agency (Kalteng) Falery Tuwan said that high-intensity rains had caused flooding in Katingan and Gunung Mas regencies.

The Katingan Regency Government has established a disaster emergency response status due to flooding, while the Gunung Mas Regency Government is still recording the impact of the flood.

According to him, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in the two districts has dispatched a rapid response team to deal with the impact of the flood.

"In addition, collecting data in flooded areas and helping local communities affected by floods," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.

According to him, the Central Kalimantan Province Fire and Disaster Management Agency is ready to help the district government deal with the impact of floods.

"The first thing that needs to be done is security and help residents in the form of evacuation measures. If there are too many, evacuation tents will be set up," he said.

He added that the provincial government had not yet received a detailed report on the impact of the floods that occurred in the Katingan and Gunung Mas districts.
