The Human Skeleton Found By Road Repair Workers In Sukabumi Turns Out To Be An Ojek Driver, A Robbery Victim

JAKARTA - The Sukabumi Police stated that the finding of a human skeleton by road repair workers in Girimukti Village, Tegalbuleud District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java is suspected of being a murder victim.

"The victim is known to be Salman (35), a resident of Legokloa Village, Cibuntu Village, Simpenan District, Sukabumi Regency, who is a motorcycle taxi driver," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Dedy Dharmawansyah, quoting Antara, Sunday, August 7.

According to Dedy, from the autopsy results which showed that Salman was a murder victim, his party immediately developed a team to form a team to uncover this case. In fact, the investigation into the alleged murder case was assisted by the West Java Police.

Not long after, the Sukabumi Police managed to get information that the alleged perpetrator of Salman's murder had been arrested by personnel from the Cisaat Police, Sukabumi City Resort for cases of fraud and embezzlement.

After the match was made according to the statements from the witnesses and information, it turned out that the suspect in the fraud and embezzlement case, who had just been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cisaat Police with the initials VS, was also a perpetrator of violent theft in which the victim was Salman, who died as a result of being stabbed by the suspect in the stomach.

"We also brought suspect VS to the Sukabumi Police Headquarters to develop this case and the alleged perpetrator admitted that his actions had taken Salman's life because he wanted to control his property, namely his motorbike," he added.

The chronology of this murder began when the suspect at the end of July 2022 asked the victim to take him to the Girimukti Village area, after the motorcycle taxi fare was agreed upon by both parties, the victim and suspect finally drove to the intended address.

But in the middle of the trip where it was already night and the streets were dark and deserted, VS pretended to ask Salman to stop his motorbike because he wanted to pee. The victim, who became suspicious, finally tried to run away and a verbal argument broke out between the two.

VS, who from the beginning had prepared a sharp weapon to carry out his action, then took it out from behind his bag. Salman, who was trying to fight back, was finally powerless after a stab hit his stomach and penetrated the victim's ribs.

Salman who was helpless was abandoned by VS and eventually died at the scene. The victim's body was only found about two weeks later with the condition that part of his body had become a skeleton by road repair workers.

Dedy said the victim's motorbike which was seized by the suspect was mortgaged for Rp. 4 million. And currently his party is still hunting for the person who received the mortgage from the suspect.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 365 concerning theft with violence, which carries a sentence of 15 years in prison. The victim's green helmet and glasses were also seized from the suspect's hands as well as other evidence, namely the victim's clothing.

"The suspect VS is a recidivist in the same case and just got out of prison," he said.
