Prabowo Wants To Have Ministers Like Jokowi's Cabinet, Gerindra: A Sign Of Ready To Run For The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party responded positively to the statement by the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto who wished to have a cabinet like the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), if he were to lead Indonesia.

Deputy Gerindra, Habiburokhman, viewed this desire as a sign that Prabowo was ready to run again as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

"I can't represent Pak Prabowo in stating his readiness to run for the 2024 presidential candidate. But objectively, I see that Prabowo is very ready to run again and win the 2024 presidential election," Habiburokhman said when contacted, Saturday, August 6.

According to the Gerindra spokesman, the 2024 presidential election is the right moment for Prabowo to run again. Because, he said, the defense minister is a unifying figure for the nation.

"This time is a golden moment for Pak Prabowo, because he is a unifying figure after two general elections, our nation seems to be divided," said Habiburokhman. Habiburokhman said the importance of unity is not just a jargon for Prabowo, but is implemented with a concrete political attitude by joining and being subordinate to those who defeated him in the general election.

"If he runs for the presidential election, there will be no more antagonistic divisions between the nation's children," said Habiburokhman. Previously, Prabowo Subianto expressed his desire to have a line of ministers like Jokowi. If in the 2019 election and then elected as president.

"So if it's in the national interest, we have to look for the best sons and daughters of the entire Indonesian nation. Don't look at the background, don't look at ethnicity, religion, race, what, don't look at whose children, don't look at what's happened in the past. We used to have a lot of differences, we used to have a lot of differences but for one red and white we must become one," Prabowo said.

On that occasion, Prabowo also expressed his admiration for the figure of Jokowi. According to him, Jokowi is Indonesia's most hard-working leader.
