In an online press conference reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 5, Wiku appealed to the public to wash their hands or carry out other cleaning efforts such as disinfection of body parts and various things just before and after physical contact with animals with FMD.

Second, if it is urgent for physical contact with animals, then use disposable personal protective equipment or those that have been previously disinfected, including if only entering the cage area.

"This step is important because humans, both body parts and materials attached to the body, can be a medium for transmitting the FMD virus between animals," said Wiku.
