Prabowo: Retired Must Continue To Play A Role For The Country

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto was the speaker at the 2022 National Gathering of the Indonesian Army Retired Association (PPAD) which was also attended by President Joko Widodo at the Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor.

Prabowo to the participants of the event talked about the importance of retired TNI soldiers to unite, to fight together in the development of the nation and state.

“I support retired retirees to enter the economic field because the economy will support the country's defense. Old soldier never dies, but for Indonesia they never fade away," said Prabowo, Friday, August 5

“The future of our country, we must be optimistic that we're on the right track. Indonesia will be a great country. For that we must protect Indonesia," he continued.

Prabowo also emphasized that the government is currently fighting for the welfare of retired retirees. One of the things that the government has done is to repair PT ASABRI.

"I want to report, Asabri we have fixed it. We'll fix Asabri now that he's getting healthy and we'll fix everything you enjoy. Earlier, the president said he wanted to fix it," he explained.

Prabowo also assured the retired officers that the development strategy carried out by his predecessors was correct and that the government led by President Jokowi was accelerating Indonesia's development. "We are on the right track. Indonesia must be a great country."

The National Gathering commemorating the 19th Anniversary of PPAD with the theme "Strengthening Unity for the Prosperity of the Nation" was attended by 8,000 retired Army soldiers from all over Indonesia. This gathering forum also invited a number of ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army General Dr. Dudung Abdurrahman to be the speaker.
