Doni Monardo: Increased Percentage Of Health Facility Bed Wearability In DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Doni Monardo said the number of used beds in a number of health facilities in DKI Jakarta has increased. This happened as the number of COVID-19 cases increased after the long holiday at the end of October, 2 weeks ago.

Based on data as of today, Doni said the number of use of beds in isolation rooms in health facilities reached 63 percent and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) room reached 68 percent.

"On November 1, the percentage of isolation beds in DKI is in a relatively low position, namely 50 percent. However, in the last two weeks there has been an increase of up to 63 percent," Doni said in a press conference broadcast on the BNPB YouTube account, Saturday, 14 November.

"Likewise, the ICU bed at the referral hospital in Jakarta was at 58 percent on November 1. However, today it has increased to 68 percent," he added.

The increase also occurred at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital Kemayoran, Jakarta. If on November 1, the usage rate was only 32.68 percent, now the figure continues to grow to 50.76 percent.

"Likewise, Tower 4 and 5, which are used for OTG patients, rose to the position of 21.50 percent," he said.

Based on this data, Doni then asked all parties to continue to implement health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19. "We all have to really be able to work together. We all really have to be able to work hand in hand, help each other in implementing health protocols," he said.

Previously, since Friday, November 13, the number of cases of COVID-19 has increased drastically. On Friday, November 13, there were an additional 5,444 cases from 42,333 specimens examined.

The provinces with the highest number of additional cases were Central Java and DKI Jakarta with 1,362 cases

Meanwhile, on Saturday, November 14, there was an additional number of COVID-19 cases reaching 5,272 from 41,336 specimens examined.

The provinces of DKI Jakarta and Central Java are still the provinces with the most cases of COVID-19. It was recorded that Jakarta contributed 1,255 cases and Central Java contributed 1,222 cases.
