JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin and General Chairperson of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto are planned to attend directly to register their parties as candidates for the 2024 election to the KPU. Both will be present at the KPU at 15.00 WIB, Monday, August 8th.

"Pak Prabowo and Gus Muhaimin (Cak Imin) will be present in person," said PKB Deputy Secretary General Syaiful Huda, Thursday, August 4.

Huda then revealed the reason why PKB and Gerindra chose August 8 as the time for registration of parties that will form a coalition in the 2024 presidential election. One of them is the factor of seeking blessings.

"There is a separate reason that Gerindra and PKB chose to register together as election participants on August 8, 2022, that date coincides with 10 Muharram 1444 Hijri in the Islamic calendar," said Huda.

"We certainly hope for the blessing and blessing of Allah SWT so that we choose a good date and day to register as participants in the 2024 General Election," he continued.

In addition, said Huda, it is hoped that PKB and Gerindra can carry out the mandate entrusted by the people if indeed in the upcoming elections.

"Thus, in the 2024 election, we hope that Gerindra and PKB will be able to get a full mandate from the people," he said.

Huda said the PKB and Gerindra agreement to register together with the KPU was part of the efforts of the two political parties to unite steps to face the democratic party in 2024. So far, he said, political communication between the two has intensified.

"In political cooperation, of course, it aims to strengthen the position of both parties. But more than that, we hope that the cooperation between Gerindra and PKB will provide the widest possible benefit to the people of Indonesia," said Huda.
