PALEMBANG - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Palembang City, South Sumatra noted that there were as many as 10 students who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 spread across several schools.

Spokesman for COVID-19 at the Palembang Health Office, Yudhi Setiawan, said the 10 positive cases of COVID-19 consisted of 4 high school students, 4 junior high school students and 2 elementary students.

"This case occurred in the fourth week of July 2022 yesterday in Palembang," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 2.

According to him, based on the results of the examination by health workers, the students who contracted COVID-19 only experienced mild symptoms.

Because of this condition, he continued, the students are currently doing self-isolation treatment and given vitamins for some time until they recover.

"Our children are undergoing isoman (self-isolation), in the next few days hopefully they will recover soon, what's more, they have all been vaccinated against COVID-19," he added.

Yudhi hopes that school administrators, including parents, must also increase supervision over the implementation of child health protocols in schools.
