JAKARTA - The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 has arrested a terrorist suspect from the Jamaah Islamiyah Network (JI) with the initials RY alias D in the Magetan area, East Java. In fact, this terrorist suspect acts as a mouthpiece with the Syrian Liberation Army or Free Syria Elme.

From the results of the examination, RY is known to have participated in the selection of members of JI International Relations in 2013.
RY traveled to Syria via Dubai in 2015. His goal was to establish relations with the Free Syrian Army or the Free Syria Elme.
"The person concerned in 2015 traveled back to Syria via Istanbul to build relations with Al Nusrah. While in Syria he was detained by the ISIS military group," said Ramadhan.
"Then he also has direct connections to Yemen in opening JI's links with Al Qaeda to conduct military training in Syria. He has also communicated with Dulmatin in Magetan," said Ramadhan.
Previously, Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 13 terrorist suspects in the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) region. They are a network of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) and Jamaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD).
For the JI group, 11 people were arrested. They had the initials ES, RU, DN, JU, SY, MF, RS, FE, SU, AKH, and MH. They also have different roles in the group.
As for the JAD group, two people were arrested. Both had the initials RI and MA.
