KUPANG - East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police Chief Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto said the police guarantee the safety of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Labuan Bajo, West Magggarai Regency, Flores Island.

"The police guarantee the safety of all tourists visiting Labuan Bajo. To ensure the safety of tourists, hundreds of members of the police have been deployed to Labuan Bajo to maintain the security situation following a strike by tourism actors in Labuan Bajo so that the situation remains conducive," said Inspector General Setyo here. The Regional Police Chief said this was related to the police's efforts to maintain the security of tourists traveling to Labuan Bajo at the time of the boycott by tourism actors who protested the increase in entrance fees to Komodo Island of Rp3.75 million set by the NTT Provincial Government.

According to the NTT Police Chief, 268 police officers from the NTT Police to Labuan Bajo were alerted.

The number of members, he said, did not include members of the Police from a number of Polres on Flores Island who had been moved to Labuan Bajo.

"We don't want tourists who come to travel to Labuan Bajo to be anxious about developing issues, so members of the Police from the NTT Regional Police and a number of Polres on Flores Island were deployed to Labuan Bajo to maintain security in the area. We want to create a safe atmosphere for tourists who come to Labuan Bajo to travel safely," said the NTT Police Chief.

He hopes that tourism business actors such as hotels, restaurants, restaurants and other tourism businesses will continue to carry out their activities as before because the action that occurred in Labuan Bajo, the western tip of Flores Island, is only a dynamic that will soon be resolved.
