Risma Greets Children In Remote And Disadvantaged Areas: From Now On, Bullying Is Not Allowed, Because Everyone Is The Same

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini asked Indonesian children not to bully but to develop an attitude of caring and helping each other because Indonesian children are brothers and one nation.

During the commemoration of National Children's Day (HAN) in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Risma greeted children, especially from 3T areas (front, remote, and underdeveloped) via an indirect remote video connection.

"From now on my children are not allowed to bully (bully) or make fun of their friends who have shortcomings. Are my children ready? Because all are the same," he said through an online broadcast followed in Jakarta.

He asked the children to cultivate an attitude of caring, loving, and helping each other, because Indonesian children are brothers and one nation.

"There are other friends who are lacking, maybe they are not perfect in sight, don't have any limbs. But that doesn't necessarily make us look down on us. No, we can't. Because behind their shortcomings there are advantages. Because in God's eyes, we are all the same," he said, according to Antara.

He gave an example of one of the children with disabilities, Gading, who was not discouraged and worked hard. From the results of his work, and receiving assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Gading was able to save Rp20 million in savings and buy a new motorbike for his parents.

The children also listened to how President Joko Widodo's grandson Jan Ethes played with a child with Cerebral Palsy, Gabriel. Then the grandson of Social Minister Risma, Gwen, played with a child patient with a heart condition, Nissa, and the son of the Mayor of Manado, Andrei Angouw, Annabel coloring pictures with a disabled child, Mauren.

Social Minister Risma motivates the children not to give up no matter how difficult the situation is, and try to reach their desired goals.

On that occasion, he also handed over ATENSI assistance for East Lombok children worth Rp3.8 billion in the form of assistance for children's needs (nutrition, clothing, school equipment, etc.), assistance for special needs (wheelchairs, walker glasses, etc.), alleviating extreme poverty. (access to electricity and water), and renovation of child-friendly homes.

HAN 2022 is expected to be a moment for children from all over Indonesia to communicate with each other.

The communities that will host the 2022 HAN are the Anak Dalam Tribe in Jambi, the Baduy Tribe in Banten, the Bertam Island Sea Tribe in the Riau Islands, the Erosaman Papuan Asmat Tribe, the Papua Amagais Asmat Tribe, the Asatat Papuan Asmat Tribe, children in the Sebatik Nunukan border area, the small town of Wini ( North Central Timor Regency), Meratus Dayak Tribe, and Majene Regency refugees. The Soeharso Integrated Center in Solo and the Antasena Center in Magelang were set to be the locus of the institution.

A series of HAN activities have been carried out, including the Alyatama Center Jambi providing school bus assistance. The construction of a school in Majene, the assistance of a ferry boat for school children on Bertam Island, computers and laptops in Wini, 100 bicycles in Sarmi Regency, Papua, and strengthening of a community center for children in the Meratus Dayak Tribe.
