JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran met directly with Nyoman Edi, the person who edited his profile on the Wikipedia page which ended in a hoax.

Inspector General of Police Fadil admitted to pardoning the perpetrators. He also asked why Nyoman Edi changed his profile on Wikipedia.

"Why Man, you edited my Wikipedia?" said Fadil in a video uploaded to the official Instagram account @kapoldametrojaya.

"I had a bad experience, not good with members of the police," answered Nyoman Edi.

Fadil admitted that he did not take his Wikipedia profile too seriously. Fadil believes that this is a risk as a public official.

He also told Nyoman Edi that the case against him would be resolved by restorative justice.

However, he emphasized that Nyoman Edi should take this as a lesson in interacting on the internet and social media.

"For me, it's a risk as a public official. Moreover, in terms of uncovering an incident, yes, which is fact-based and seeking the truth, it's okay," said Fadil.

Fadil then asked Nyoman to criticize himself and the Polda Metro Jaya in serving the community.

"It can get better, better. Everything can run smoothly. Be objective and transparent," said Nyoman Edi hopeful.

"Thank you, Nyoman," said Fadil.

At the end of the video, there is also a moment when Fadil helps take off the orange shirt typical of the Polda Metro Jaya prisoner that Nyoman Edi wears.

Previously, the profile of the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran on the Wikipedia site was changed.

The perpetrators linked Fadil Imran with Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo in the case of the death of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier Jim as a result of a shootout between police at the official house of the Head of the Propam Police Division.

Not long after, Friends of the Indonesian Police reported the editor on Wikipedia on charges of spreading false news (hoaxes) Article 14 paragraph 2 and/or Article 15 of the Criminal Code.
