BABEL - The Bangka Belitung Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that six out of seven regencies/cities were recorded without adding positive cases of COVID-19 or sloping back down.

This is inseparable from the active role of the community who are disciplined in implementing health protocols.

"Today there is only one case of COVID-19 in West Bangka, while there are zero other regencies/cities," said Secretary of the Babel Mikron Antariksa COVID-19 Task Force in Pangkalpinang, Antara, Sunday, July 31.

Based on the latest daily COVID-19 case data, the six regencies/cities without COVID-19 cases are Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Regency, Central Bangka, South Bangka, and East Belitung, bringing a total of 55 active patients who are still undergoing isolation.

"Today, four more patients have recovered from COVID-19 and there have been zero deaths," he said.

He said 55 active COVID-19 patients who were still undergoing isolation were spread in Pangkalpinang 20 people, Belitung 18 patients, Bangka 9 patients, Central Bangka 4 people, West Bangka and South Bangka each 2 people.

"Until now, East Belitung is still without cases and active COVID-19 patients," he said.

According to him, in suppressing the number of COVID-19 cases, his party together with the district/city task force continue to socialize health protocols and optimize COVID-19 vaccination activities to increase people's immunity from the corona virus.

"Alhamdulillah, the public's interest in taking vaccinations, especially booster vaccinations continues to increase and this continues to be intensified to form communal immunity," he said.
